The ANFD (Agitated Nutsche Filter Dryer) is a combination of filtration and drying processes in one unit to improve profitability by making solid-liquid separation processes economic and energy-saving. SRP manufactures Single (Mono-block) & Double (Detachable base) models, which are used in the manufacturing process of various Pharmaceutical API products, Food Products, Chemicals, Fine Chemicals, Agro Pesticides, Dyes and Intermediates, Paints, Insecticides, and for Sterile applications as well.
The Agitated Nutsche filters are Nutsche type filters used to separate solids from liquids and are operated with pressure or vacuum. The filtration process is done in a closed vessel to ensure odorless, contamination-free, non-polluting working conditions, and maintains product purity and hygiene. In addition, ANFD comes with a stirrer mechanism which agitates the slurry efficiently during cake washing, smoothens and squeezes the cake during the filtration process, and even helps in the automatic discharge of the final cake. The ANFD comes with a pressure vessel in which a main shaft rotates and also moves top to bottom in the vertical direction. High-quality stirrer blades are mounted on the shaft, capable of performing different functions. A filter plate is positioned at the bottom of the vessel, level with the discharge port, to assist in maximum cake removal. The filter medium, typically a filter cloth, is fitted on the filter plate and can be replaced as needed.
The overall attention to design details allows for simplified validation of the units. The agitator is supported from the top, with the agitator drive, the bearings, and the shaft seal installed externally. Shaft sealing is with a double mechanical seal and a convoluted bellows. The agitator arms have a specially designed bottom smooth surface that presses the cake when rotated counterclockwise, and mix and agitate the cake when rotated clockwise.
Simultaneous rotational and vertical agitator motions result in a very efficient and even mixing of the entire product mass for mixing and drying. The agitator arms are S-shaped for improved product discharge. All product wetted surfaces are heated to obtain the largest possible heat exchange area for short drying times and a low attainable final humidity.
