Pressure Nutsche Filter (PNF)

A Pressure Nutsche Filter (PNF) is an industrial filtration unit that operates under vacuum or pressure to separate solids from liquids. The filtration process is done in a closed vessel to ensure odorless, contamination-free, non-polluting working conditions, and maintains product purity and hygiene, these are used in the manufacturing process of various Pharmaceutical API products, Food Products, Chemicals, Fine Chemical, Agro Pesticides, Chemicals, Dyes and Intermediates, Paint, Insecticides, and for Sterile applications as well.

  1. Filtration Process: The liquid feed is introduced into the vessel, and pressure is applied to push the liquid through the filter media. The solid particles are retained, creating a cake on the filter surface.
  2. Cake Formation: Over time, the solid particles build up as a filter cake, which must be removed periodically to maintain optimal filtration performance.
  3. Cake Washing (Optional): In some applications, the filter cake may be washed to remove residual liquid or impurities, improving the purity of the filtrate and the quality of the solid cake.
  4. Cake Discharge: After filtration and washing, the cake is discharged from the filter through a mechanical scraping or blowing process.
  5. Filtrate Collection: The filtered liquid (filtrate) is collected for further processing or disposal.
